West Boca Medical Center, part of Tenet South Florida, is a 185-bed
acute care hospital located at 21644 State Road 7 in Boca Raton,
Fl.
The hospital has been serving the medical and health care needs of
its community and surrounding areas for 18 years.
West Boca Medical Center offers a broad array of services, including
general medical and surgical care, intensive care, outpatient surgery
services, inpatient surgery, 24-hour emergency services for adults and
children, diabetes education, cystic fibrosis program for adults and
children and outpatient rehabilitation services.
The hospital also offers several specialties, including a Level III
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, BirthCare Pavilion, a Pediatric Unit and
Pediatric Intensive Care.

on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, the nation?s oldest

24-Hour Emergency Care
West
Boca Medical Center's emergency room is open 24-hours a day to help
meet the needs of the community. The staff is trained and ready to
handle emergency situations from minor injuries to critical care. We
also offer a 24-hour pediatric emergency room for children from birth
up to age 16 staffed by pediatricians and nurses specially trained in
emergency medicine.
Cystic
Fibrosis Clinic
The
Cystic Fibrosis Clinic at
West Boca Medical Center consists of numerous specialists who
collaborate to provide care for the cystic fibrosis patient. The
interdisciplinary healthcare team forms the core of our clinic and
meets regularly to assess the clinical, educational and psychosocial
needs of the family and to plan and evaluate care provided. This team
consists of pulmonologists, gastroenterologists, respiratory
technologists, nutritionists, physical therapists, nurses and case

Diabetes
Outpatient Program

This comprehensive program
offers an individualized, hands on learning experience for the newly or
previously diagnosed adult diabetic. Program highlights include: Meal
planning and nutritional counseling; oral medications and updates;
insulin and new advances in treatment; blood glucose monitoring;
exercise; personal care; complications and coping strategies.
This
nine hour program is taught by a team of healthcare professionals that
includes nurse educators and a clinical dietitian and requires a
physician prescription. A diabetes support group is also held each
month to support this program.

classes are available to help prepare you for giving birth and caring
for your baby. We know that new parents appreciate as much information
as possible, and we try to accommodate you in this way. Some of the
classes we offer include Lamaze, Infant CPR and breast-feeding, all of
which help new parents ease into this exciting new lifestyle. Tours of

While
many deliveries are uncomplicated, it?s still reassuring to know that
West Boca Medical Center has a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
and the only unit of its kind in north Broward and Boca Raton. The
staff in this unit cares for premature infants and babies requiring
specialized care upon delivery.

Pediatric
Services
Children are not just
little adults. Dealing with an injury, disease or disorder in children
may sometimes require a different approach. So when they are sick they
need the attention of people who understand their special needs.
The health care professionals on staff at West Boca Medical Center
have experience in treating a wide range of illnesses and injuries
affecting children. Our medical staff is further enhanced by more than
80 affiliated pediatric specialists and subspecialists with expertise
in many areas.
We have certified pediatric nurses who also receive special training
and certification in Pediatric and Neonatal Advance Life Support.
Together, they all offer children the highly speciaized medical care
they need.
We offer a wide range of primary and acute care pediatric
services in a child-friendly environment including:
