MESSAGE FROM THE CEO Welcome to the Los Alamitos Medical Center web site. At Los Alamitos, we have a strong commitment to quality and are continually improving to meet the many needs of our community. Our campus consists of the hospital, three medical office buildings, and the Leisure World Health Care Center. We offer an array of medical and surgical services including a 24-hour Emergency Department, a Birthing Center, a Cardiac Cath Lab and Cardiac Rehabilitation Program, a Geropsychiatric unit, and various Surgical Services. The past couple of years have been a time of growth and change for Los Alamitos Medical Center and we?re not done yet. As technology continues to progress, we have invested in new equipment and software to better serve our patients and to give the physicians and staff the tools they need to do their jobs. TotalCare, the outpatient diagnostic center is thriving. By moving outpatient appointments to TotalCare for ultrasounds, X-rays, and CT scans, we have improved the service quality and decreased wait times. Hospital patients now benefit from our participation in the ?Get with the Guidelines? initiative with the American Heart Association, a multi-department stroke team, the Emergency Department?s designation as a cardiac receiving center, and a Rapid Response Team that is deployed at the first sign of a patient deteriorating. We provide a convenient shuttle to and from your car right to the hospital or medical office building door. Our high standards of care direct us to give each patient personalized attention to help ensure a comfortable stay in a caring environment.
